This week on our little hobby farm

Another very busy week here on our little hobby farm. The buckwheat has really taken over the front field and hopefully soon the back field too. Mixed in the buckwheat is an emerging crop of dill which will become taller than the buckwheat, by the time the buckwheat goes to seed and dies off. Sunflowers 🌻 are getting lots of seeds and the chickens ar loving them. We are also now seeing our pumpkins with lots of flowers and little baby pumpkins 🎃 on them! So excited for pumpkins and to see how many we can get with this small patch. The big chickens are getting an upgrade on their chicken house with a giant covered run to keep squirrels and wild birds out of their food. Also to easily shade and keep them cooled off in the hot summer with misters. We are affectionately calling this the “Winchester Chicken House” (an homage to The Winchester Mystery House) because we will have a so many doors to it. When it’s finished, I will have to get a good video for you to see what I mean. It will definitely be a fun farm experience if you visit.
